Export only a filtered subset of documents

Export only the documents in a chosen collection.

Step 1 — Filter to a collection

In the left sidebar.

Click the collection name to filter the matter to that collection. To clear the filter, click ALL in the same Collections list — it looks like a collection but is a shortcut back to every document in the matter that you have not moved to the Bin.

Step 2 — Run the export

In the tab toolbar.

With the matter filtered, click Create Bundle (a paginated court-bundle PDF) or Download Files (the Document Index and source files). Each button opens a panel rather than exporting anything — set your options there, then start the export from the panel's own button: Create Bundle in the bundle panel, Export in the Download Files panel.

The export contains every document in that collection, apart from any you have moved to the Bin. It is not decided by what the table happens to be showing: searching the columns narrows the rows on screen but not the export.

Filtering reduces what both exports cost.

Download Files and Create Bundle both charge only for the documents in the collection you filtered to, and neither charges for documents you have moved to the Bin.

Either way you only pay for documents that aren't already part of a paid index, and a Confirm Export dialog shows the cost before anything is charged. If your balance is too low, Create Bundle offers a watermarked bundle instead rather than charging you; Download Files stops and asks you to top up.

To produce separate bundles for different parties, filter to each collection in turn and export it.

Step 3 — Narrow by volume (optional)

At the bottom of the Create Bundle panel, just above the button.

In Volumes to assemble, enter volume numbers and ranges — for example 1,2,5-7 — and it builds only those volumes. Leave it blank to assemble every volume.

This works with or without a collection filter: you can combine the two, filtering to a collection and naming volumes.

Your export now covers just the documents in the collection you filtered to — a paginated court bundle, or the Document Index and source files — charged only for the documents in it, and limited to the volumes you named if you set any.
