Generate a paginated court bundle

Produce a paginated court bundle with cover page, TOC, and bookmarks.

1. In the tab, click Create Bundle in the toolbar. The Create Bundle panel opens on the right.
2. Expand the sections you need — Cover Page, Document Upload, Index / Table of Contents, Volumes Settings, Tab / Page Separators, Bookmarks, and Pagination — and configure each.
3. Optionally, in Volumes to assemble, enter the volumes you want — single numbers and ranges separated by commas, for example 1,2,5-7. Leave it blank to assemble every volume.
4. Click at the bottom. If a setting is missing, a red "Bundle settings need attention" banner lists what to fix and the button stays disabled.
5. If any documents have processing issues (password-protected, unsupported type, empty, or too large), a warning dialog lists them. Click Create Bundle Anyway to continue — affected files appear as placeholder pages — or to fix them first.
6. If anything in the collection you are bundling has not been charged before, a Confirm Export dialog shows what it will cost. Click Export to commit the charge and continue, or to stop.

   If your credit balance is short, BriefTech offers Export with watermark instead:

   • It produces the bundle without charging you.
   • Every page carries a BriefTech watermark — fine for a draft, not for filing.
   • The ZIP contains the PDF volumes only. None of the editable Word copies of the cover pages, tab dividers and contents pages are included — see What you get below.
   • On a watermarked run, Volumes to assemble produces only those of your chosen volumes numbered 3 or lower — if you ask for volumes 4 and up, nothing is produced. The cap applies only when you name volumes: leave the field blank and a watermarked run produces every volume. So on a watermarked run, naming volumes can give you fewer than asking for none.
   • Top up and regenerate for a clean copy.

   A missing subscription does not block bundle generation — credits are the only gate. There is no separate Subscription Required step: if your balance is short you are offered Export with watermark (above), and declining it cancels the export without producing a bundle.

7. If a bundle already exists for this collection, BriefTech warns Existing bundle files detected — click Proceed to overwrite the previous results, or to keep them. Cancelling here does not refund the credits committed in the previous step.
8. You can navigate away while it runs — a flat View details button shows progress, and the job keeps running. A Bundles created successfully message appears when it finishes.
9. To check on a run in progress, click the icon in the top bar — it pulses while any job is running. It opens Background Jobs, where you can check status; return to the Create Bundle panel for the downloads.
10. To stop a bundle that is still generating, open View details and click . BriefTech confirms with Cancellation requested and stops the run shortly after. Cancelling does not refund the credits you committed at step 6. See Job Logs for when this button is available and the full cancellation rules.

What you get

When it's ready, a download row appears. Each volume is listed as its own white, bordered card with a navy download icon that downloads just that volume, and a bordered Complete Bundle (ZIP) card with a blue download icon downloads everything together as a single ZIP. Click anywhere on a card — including its icon — to save it.

The ZIP contains one PDF per volume. Provided the bundle was paid for — that is, you committed the charge at step 6 rather than exporting with a watermark — it also includes editable Word (.docx) copies of the structural pages your bundle contains, sorted into subfolders:

• cover/ — cover pages.
• tab/ — tab and separator pages, but only if you uploaded your own tab template under Tab / Page Separators. BriefTech's own auto-generated tab pages have no Word version, so a bundle that uses them has no tab/ folder.
• toc/ — the index printed inside the volumes themselves (every volume, or volume 1 only, depending on your Index generation setting).

The cover and table-of-contents copies are named after the volume they belong to, so they match that volume's PDF and follow your Filename on Export setting — a bundle whose volumes export as Volume 1.pdf gives Cover - Volume 1.docx and TOC - Volume 1.docx. See Court bundle settings. Tab pages are named from the document's serial number instead, as tab_17.docx, regardless of that setting.

Use these to reprint the structural pages on their own — for example on coloured paper — without regenerating the whole bundle.
